"At a glance, it would seem there is some relationship between the perception of inequality and conflict on the one hand and sexual permissiveness on the other." I suppose I am one of those political philosophers who did make an effort to elucidate this connection. The liberation of female sexuality from all patriarchal constraints, and even from biology itself!, magnified and aggravated the most fundamental abacus of human inequality and conflict: that of the unequal distribution of the female sex. Post-industrial modernity with its relaxation of the costs of hedonism, through mutually reinforcing social and technological incentives including the pill, abortion, urban anonymity, delayed marriage, grrlboss agitprop, and female economic self-sufficiency, put into stark relief the feral nature of female hypergamy, and the reality that only a few men at the top would enjoy the sexual free-for-all of young women liberated from the costs of premarital sex and from the responsibility of choosing a mate wisely. So now the bird's-eye view of revolutions throughout history alights on my personal in-field observations that our modern sexual market was creating a vast perception of inequality among men (and in a different way, among women as well) that must inevitably lead to social collapse.
