Lava fountaining is underway, and live summit webcams are up. 🌋📹 So yes, the map looks loud right now: 🇯🇵 Japan 🇻🇪 Venezuela 🌊 Caribbean 🇺🇸 California coastline 🇺🇸 Alaska / Aleutians 🌋 Hawaii / Kīlauea Now the correction: Venezuela and the Caribbean are not technically the Pacific Ring of Fire, but they are part of a serious seismic plate-boundary zone. Hawaii is also not “the center of the Ring of Fire.” Kīlauea is a Pacific hot spot volcano, which is a different mechanism. Still, the bigger picture is obvious: The Pacific is active. The Caribbean zone is under pressure. Japan is shaking. Venezuela is dealing with aftershocks. Kīlauea is erupting. California and Alaska are always worth watching. And yes, people are asking about the Sun. ☀️🧲 Fair question. Solar storms can affect the magnetosphere, satellites, GPS, radio, and power systems.
