In 2013 Pennsylvania's ACT 89 was supposed to fix the funding problem for roads and bridges but yet here we are 12 years later, and the roads and bridges are still crumbling.
ACT 89 gave us one of the highest gasoline taxes in the nation, increased registration fees, license fees, inspections and the Multi Modal Fund which is not even mentioned in this article.
Act 89 also established a dedicated Multimodal Transportation Fund that stabilized funding for ports and rail freight, increased aviation investments, establishes dedicated funding for bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
Millions of dollars are going to bicycle trails and walkways for the building of sustainable communities, the United Nations agenda. Here where I am $7.5 million from Penn Dot went into a walkway along the river 800 feet long.
The minds in Harrisburg think a way to fix the funding gap would be to tax Uber and Lyft services and Amazon and DoorDash Deliveries. I guess they think these costs just won't be passed onto the consumer.
One of the mindless leaders said, “We’re in a distribution economy now and people aren’t going to brick and mortar stores as much, so they aren’t buying gas.” How about people are broke and can't afford to drive anymore so they just order everything from home but now you want to tax the deliveries.
The best place to start would be all money that comes into Penn Dot from the gas tax, license fees, registration fees, and inspections goes to roads and bridges only! And the next thing to cut would be all the sustainable community and sustainable development crap and cut the gas tax and people would by more gas.

"Officials tell Pittsburgh's Action News 4 police were called to the Giant Eagle Market District within the 5500 block of Centre Avenue around 2:30 p.m. following reports of shots being fired in the parking lot of the grocery store.

Witnesses told authorities two women were involved in an altercation leading up to the gunfire. No injuries were reported.

The Mobile Crime Unit arrived on the scene and processed all evidence, including one live casing and one spent casing.

Authorities said although no one was reportedly injured, one victim denied medical treatment and left the scene."
