Boris Johnson Fires Top Minister Michael Gove, Amid Calls For The British PM To Resign Over Deluge Of Scandals The prime minster is facing renewed calls Wednesday to resign, even from his own party members of parliament(MPs) following the latest scandal over his handling of sexual misconduct claims against former deputy chief whip Chris Pincher. At least 42 ministers and aides have quit in the past day, including senior ministers Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak. Former ally and Housing and Communities Secretary Michael Gove also called for the PM to resign. Home Secretary Priti Patel and Nadhim Zahawi, who was just appointed as chancellor, were reportedly believed to be among a group who visited No 10 and urged Johnson to resign. While another group -- including allies Nadine Dorries and Jacob Rees-Mogg reportedly visited to show support for the PM. Attorney General and 'Brexiteer' Suella Braverman has also called on the prime minister to resign -- and said she'd stand for potential Conservative Party leadership election. Johnson appears at least for now, determined to stay on. He fired Gove, and is reportedly planning a cabinet reshuffle. Many Tory members fear the prime minster's refusal to resign will hurt the party in the next elections. Others claim he will have to resign within weeks, even as early as next week. Johnson's liberal policies have alienated many conservatives and populists who see his government as no different than what a typical woke left-wing Labor Party government would be. https://www.keneci.com/more-on-hotfeed-keneci-channel#h.59fi4ysgj2ol
