Greenwood Park Mall Shooting: Good Guy With A Gun Stopped The Shooter The gunman opened fire inside Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana on Sunday evening. He had a long rifle with several magazines of ammunition, according to police, and began firing at the food court at around 6pm local time, before an armed 22-year-old shot back and killed the gunman. “We believe at this time, investigators are still questioning the individual involved, but it appears that a good Samaritan who was armed observed the shooting in progress and shot the shooter,” Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said during a press conference. He the person is cooperating fully. Four people including the shooter are dead, and 2 were injured, according to police. Ison identified the good Samaritan who shot the gunman, only as a 22-year-old man from Bartholomew County, which is about 35 miles south of the mall, adding that he was lawfully carrying a gun. In a statement, Mayor Mark Myers praised the 22-year-old's actions. “Someone we are calling the ‘good Samaritan’ was able to shoot the assailant and stop further bloodshed,” he said. “I am grateful for his quick action and heroism in this situation.” “I’ve been a police officer most of my life,” Myers said of the shooting in an interview. “Still, this is incredibly shocking, to not only me but our entire community.” https://www.keneci.com/more-on-hotfeed-keneci-channel#h.gkkrs731dtif
