It was the biggest annual drop since 2021–22 according to EdSource.” That’s the biggest annual drop since #Covid. I wonder why?🤔 This article ⤵️ gives three possible reasons and I will offer a fourth. “The culprit is a nasty cocktail of factors: families moving out of California or to less-expensive parts of the state, immigration enforcement and a dramatic decline in the number of babies being born.” Families AND businesses are definitely moving out of California at a rapid pace and they are losing population. Very true. There’s a dramatic decline in the birth rate in California too. Who wants to raise children in a state that is hard to survive in because of the cost of living? But I think the immigration enforcement is the KEY issue and it connects to a fourth issue not mentioned. California had the largest number of #illegalaliens in the country. Their free benefits for illegals and sanctuary status were a magnet for many years. But everything changed with Trump. He has now closed the border and massively accelerated the deportation of illegals. California was put in the crosshairs. I think a lot of illegals have also left California and that’s why their public school enrollment is crashing. There are a reported 2 million illegals, who have ALREADY self-deported. I bet many were from California. But here’s the fourth reason why I think California public school enrollment is plummeting. Trump has cut off a lot of federal funding for various programs because of FRAUD. California is not supposed to be spending federal tax dollars for “free” benefits for illegals. Including education. California no longer has an open spigot of federal taxpayer dollars and can’t fill that huge budget hole. No more free food, rent, healthcare or welfare for illegals. Their daily funding got cut off and California is a high cost of living state. One of the highest in the country. So I believe two things are happening. Illegals are both self deporting and moving to other states, where the cost of living is much cheaper. How many of the suddenly disappearing students in California public schools are illegals?
