"More than 910,000 Australians — or 4.5% of the population — identify as LGBTQIA+, according to the first nationally representative snapshot of Australia's sex- and gender-diverse community. "For the first time, the Australian Bureau of Statistics used data from four national surveys to determine the size and characteristics of the LGBTQIA+ community. The data comes off the back of heated debate about whether questions on sexuality should be included in the Australian census. "...
