Don't Forget Tonight: Proposed 12% Property Tax Increase Heads to the School Board; Taxpayers Need to Make Their Voices Heard - 7:00 PM, Upper Perkiomen Education Center, Pennsburg, PA Don't forget tonight, the Upper Perkiomen School Board is expected to consider a proposed property tax increase that could reach approximately 12%. Nobody wants children to go without, and everyone wants quality schools. But what about the taxpayers, the senior citizen trying to remain in the home they spent decades paying for, and the young family already struggling with skyrocketing costs for groceries, gasoline, electricity, heating oil, insurance, and everyday necessities? For the 2025-26 school year, the district approved an approximately $85.1 million budget and increased the millage rate by 3.5%. Yet before next year's budget is even finalized, officials are once again discussing another significant tax increase. At some point, taxpayers have to ask, "When is enough enough?" The answer cannot always be, "Raise taxes." The district needs to find inefficiencies, control spending, and make the difficult decisions that every family in this community has already had to make. Taxpayers are not an unlimited ATM. Upper Perkiomen School Board Meeting Thursday, June 18, 2026 7:00 PM Upper Perkiomen Education Center 2229 E.
