What Changed for Me About Forgiveness After Coming to Christ I used to think forgiving meant letting someone off the hook. Now I see it more like releasing the hook from my own heart. Scripture ties forgiveness to the mercy we’ve already received in Christ (Col. 3:13), and it warns us what bitterness does to us over time (Heb. 12:15).
