I set out to explore the side of the city that travel guides usually overlook. In this video, we explore Copenhagen’s striking contrasts. We experience the city’s unique approach to harm reduction—where municipal services provide a safe environment and support for individuals struggling with severe substance abuse. Yet, just a few streets away, the atmosphere shifts completely. In the darker corners of the city center, we came face-to-face with organized street thieves who, shockingly, boasted about being the best at what they do. We also head to Nørrebro—one of Copenhagen’s most diverse and vibrant neighborhoods—to see how multiculturalism shapes local culture and everyday life.
