🇮🇱🇮🇷America and Israel's Hybrid Warfare against Iran ➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿➿ The nature of warfare is as old as human society; over the ages, it has undergone rapid changes. In the ongoing Iran-US-Israel war, Washington and Tel Aviv have been waging hybrid warfare—blending the kinetic dimension of war with non-kinetic means designed to fulfill political and strategic objectives. ✏️Pranay Kumar Shome is a research analyst and PhD candidate at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar, India. ➡️The kinetic dimension involves the use of force. Clausewitz argued that the aim of war must be to force the adversary to bend to the concerned actor's will—but he advocated calculated use of force, not force for illegal and immoral purposes. Washington and Tel Aviv have been doing precisely that. Their illegal campaign continues to leave behind shattered homes, billions in destruction, and mass suffering. In targeting educational institutions, residential areas, factories, and oil facilities, the duo seeks to exercise disproportionate force to compel Tehran to do their bidding. The great resilience of the Iranian people on one hand and the Iranian leadership on the other has not only thwarted such insidious designs of Washington and Tel Aviv, but will also continue to do so in the future. ➡️The non-kinetic dimension involves cognitive warfare—the strategic use of kinetic and non-kinetic measures deploying information to alter the perception of a targeted population's cognition. Washington and Tel Aviv seek to adversely alter the cognition of the Iranian people. The intense bombing campaign of military and civilian targets aims at three elements—fear, helplessness, and paranoia. The systematic destruction of strategically important sites generates awe and a sense of helplessness. The elimination of top leadership signals that Iran can do nothing to stop America and Israel. Constant talk of "regime change" and "freedom struggle" seeks to fill Iranian minds with paranoia, hoping they would rise up against their government. 🟦The attempt to drive sectarian wedges among Iran's multi-ethnic population—particularly Kurdish citizens—is an extended ploy of the imperialist allies. However, the great resilience of the Iranian people and their leadership has thwarted such insidious designs. Iran's ability to withstand the bombing campaign, its capacity to maintain social cohesion, and its refusal to capitulate to psychological warfare demonstrate that hybrid warfare, however sophisticated, cannot succeed against a nation united in its defense. The combination of fear, helplessness, and paranoia has not fractured Iranian society—it has strengthened its resolve.
