The "school" can decide which is more important... having books... or having pornography. If they decide porn is more important than books... you did exactly the right thing in burning them. You can burn books like you can dump millstones when they turn people into monsters. Words are not magic, it is the meaning that matters. You could destroy every book on Earth and you never would... because every book, every story... that just comes from life, from living. Books are convenient in that they allow us to accelerate our awareness by encoding past perceptions in an atemporal format... but if that acceleration becomes addictively influential to evil, destructive intent... then you don't have books, you have bombs. Meaning is more important than reading. If you only teach reading, you don't have books and you don't have libraries, you just have rape waiting to happen while everyone involved pretends the words really are magic.
