*toking right along* https://gab.com/Onideus/posts/116974574639762319 So... in this new rendition, I'm thinking that magic wands are more like... magical batteries! Think like Green Lantern combined with, uh... Sakura, from Naruto. It's like the analogy of moving your hand and making waves in the water, so you can move your metaphysical energy, like swirling it around and it can then add magical entropy into the wand. And the more expensive the wand, the more energy it can store, so you can see how the poor are at a serious disadvantage in the wizarding world. These ethereal batteries and generators are essentially sub-atomic in nature, they're so tiny you can fit thousands to millions in a single physical object of like or symmetrically compatible material. The "core" of the wand is similar to the conductive material... for example we use copper in our generators... however in realities not this one they have these "disposable generators" that are crazy stupid expensive because they use SILVER threading! It's a far better conductor, but it burns out like Tony Stark's imaginary version of Paladium. In the same manner there are some super expensive wands that hold huge amounts of energy, require very little innate magical strength to charge them up, are quick charging, but they only last for a year and then you have to get rid of them as they become increasingly unstable. Also, you can overcharge them and create magical explosives. Now you might think... well that's boring. But it makes sense because of Hermione Granger. You see there is a strict pact in the magical world between the "muggle born" and the "magical born"... the "muggle born" can use magic in our every day world, subversively, to acquire vast wealth, they are allowed to do so as a means of buying high level magitech which then balances the offset of power caused by the "pure bloods" gaming and grooming generations of magical abuse. In "ye olden times" they just killed them all! All the "mud bloods"... they murdered them because they literally muddied their pure bloods and made weaker, more pedestrian versions. Think like... turning a wolf into a puppy dog. That's why it's seen as so offensive, but at the same time there's a significant faction of wizards who want to try and "reconnect" with the rational world, the one that doesn't evolve through deception and destruction. It does dilute magic, yes... but magitech has proven to bridge the divide, like giving guns to women... but at the same time it also creates some problems, like when Harry accidently shot "Aunt Marge" full of psychoreactive energy, causing her physical form to emulate her emotional state... as a bloated buffoon full of hot air. There are forms of magic that can blend emotion and physicality, to varying degrees of permanence. Any sort of body morphing or object morphing magic is based on mixing imagination and/or emotion into reality which is then held in a suspended state of object permanence. So if you think you're a couch and you desperately want to hide in the safest thing you can think of to hide in... and that's a couch, well you can become the couch. Potentially permanently! Just like in Final Fantasy 2 when the twins use "stone" on themselves, it cannot be undone as it was done autonomously. In the same respect, certain extreme states of emotional torture can cause self-inflicted object permanence... which may not include a sense of perception... and if it doesn't... or if it's diminished... you're stuck. The "mud bloods" are more prone to emotional amplification or explosive emotions as a result of having the ability to be more emotionally affected by loss. That's why the dark wizards don't dare attack the "real world", because the mud bloods would turn into the equivalent of magical nuclear weapons in response to a loss such incredible magnitude! That's why Voldemorte sheepishly blows up a bridge... he doesn't DARE attack anything the regular humans would actually appreciate, because if he did, they would rabidly retaliate with unstoppable magical force. So he's very chaotic in that sense, in that, yes, Voldemorte is very powerful, but its worse than being powerful because he wants other things to be just as powerful. He WANTS to piss the "mud bloods" off, he WANTS their explosive emotional response so he can SPAR against it! As a means to grow stronger he seeks to create an even stronger enemy to push his own apex evolution even further! He can't stand the thought of his form of evolution, psychopathic survival, coming to an end, he doesn't want the wolves to become pups... he wants the wolves to become even greater monsters in creation by attacking what raised the pups, in order to drive man's best friend into man's best evolutionary avenger. Voldemorte desperately WANTS that vengeance forged into a weapon capable of damaging even his being. He wants to be able to feel pain, but he can only feel pain if he gives the world hell. This shit writes itself!
