03 August 2022 Iceland Volcano Erupts For 2nd Time in 6,000 Years Iceland’s Fagradalsfjall volcano - 32km from the key Keflavik airport - has begun spewing forth lava for the second time in over 6,000 years, just over a year since it last erupted. It burst into activity Wednesday at 13:30 local time, and so far no flights have been canceled. University of Iceland volcanologist Thorvaldur Thordason has played down the “tourist eruption” - as long as the fissure doesn’t grow any larger. video iceland.mp4 (attached)
