In 1950, Ludvick Jurenic opened the Arc Light Bar near Meaderville in Butte, Montana. He changed the name to Luigi’s Bar around 1953 and in 1964 moved to Harrison Avenue. Ludvick was well known for his ability to play 20 instruments, all at the same time. His one-man band and “house of dancing dolls” incorporated a variety of instruments, a bubble machine, as well as puppets manipulated with wires and buttons. According to the Montana Standard, when he played polkas the whole place shook. [MHS #PhotoArchives, Lot 048 Butte adds_Luigis, unidentified photographer, c. 1950s]
