The "Ducks" on the Cadillac symbol are actually mythical birds called merlettes. They represent constant striving and a family lineage of noble birth, and symbolize courage and adventure from the time of the Crusades. Based on the family crest of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, who founded Detroit in 1701. #cadillac
