Today was a very weird EV day Had very strong winds (25+) the entire trip working against us. In summer when we do this trip we do not wait for charging - the car overcharges because its waiting for us. In winter this trip generally requires 40 minutes gross charging (even still our static 'waiting' time is only about 5-8 minutes). Because of the intense headwinds we ultimately charged 95 minutes and officially 'waited' about 25m after accounting for meals and bathroom breaks. Looking at the data in hindsight, I'm pretty cozy with arriving at 5% so we could have realistically shaved 6m each off of stops one and two, as well as 18m off our final stop and thus only charged 65m total. But we weren't in any great hurry and so I didn't min-max.   I also wasn't too sure on our last leg - when we left the charger it said we'd arrive with 5% - but that was based on driving 70 avg, not the 55mph average I did. The weather was weird as well When I left my folks place it was 70F Drove to St Louis area for our first charge stop/meal it was 78F Next charge stop 2 hours later it was 42F Charge stop after that 90 minutes later it was 19F When I got home after 2hrs (usually 90m) it was 12F.
