Annie @annie151092 The statue is known as Silenus with the Infant Dionysus (also referred to as Silenus and the Infant Bacchus) The sculpture is a Roman marble copy dating to the 1st or 2nd century AD. It was modeled after a lost Greek bronze original attributed to the school of the renowned sculptor Lysippus, created around 310–300 BC. One of the most famous versions is in the Louvre (catalogue number Ma 922). It was once part of the Borghese collection in Rome before being purchased by Napoleon in 1807.#art #sculpture
