"Civilization is a revolt against nature. It is a revolt against murder, theft, famine, disease, and many other things. Humans make sacrifices against many of their evolved instincts for a tradeoff - escaping the brutal natural world. The reason social norms exist that enforce these sacrifices and shame those who don't comply is that without them civilization doesn't exist. If children don't have a mother and father ( the presence of which can be correlated to monogamy) they are unlikely to learn moral behavior and thus society weakens as opportunistic behavior rises. " - Viktor Vaughn YouTube account This comment has much validity, though it doesn't account for the scope of reality including other worlds. I would make the argument that "nature" in this world is the way it is due to the fall of this world to Satan and/or cosmic shifts that lead to an STS dependent environment. Only Divinely aligned civilization/environments can stand, STS/satanic environments are by nature unstable. In this world much effort must be made to resist the pool of gravity downward, and to choose to build up to heaven. I believe this constant struggle has made our civilizations, and souls stronger then places that have STO/divine environments. Civilizations here create a temporary block of order against the pull of downward.
