The name "Jericho" carries with it the definition of "moon god" so 1 facet is, the Living God defeated the moon god. Know of any religion or nation(s) who have a crescent moon as an emblem representing them? This was a clear example of not only believing God, BUT, doing what HE commanded even though it went against everything they knew concerning war tactics (the spiritual world works differently). It was their faith that overcome the worldly ways which is the believer's victory (1 John 5:4) Could this be a "word picture" of the 70th week of Daniel? Even the Ark was brought which goes against the Law, but what does it represent? Study.
