I bought a 1400 lb black Angus and had it processed for $4300 all in. The processing is pretty standard, the only specialty cuts would be that we have a small amount of ground beef pattied. I pick it up tomorrow, it generally yields freezer meat of about 550-580 pounds. This usually lasts the two of us for 12-14 months, along with other meat products we purchase separately throughout the year. Also we get a deer or two, most of that turns into breakfast meat and jerky. Most of our other purchases are reduced price sales on poultry and pork at Sam's club or specialty meats from local lockers. I'm considering getting a hog processed if I have enough freezer space Just curious how this measures up with other person's experiences.
