Wonder why hoping in Trump as our savior hasn't worked out? Psalm 146:3-4, which warns: "Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing" Jeremiah 17:5: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord". Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Psalm 118:8: "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans." Isaiah 2:22: "Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?" Psalm 40:4: "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods."
