https://rumble.com/vdsut5-becoming-christian-video-sermon-2-12-2021-bro-steve-winter-dd.html Don't let the minister of Satan deceive you into false-christianity with scripture twisting and sugar coated lies. Grace offers the Acts 2:38 salvation just as it offered the option for Noah to build a boat.  Grace offers the undeserved unmerited option of obedience and salvation. One must first BECOME a Christian before one can remain a Christian Sharing from http://biblefolk.com/forum/topic/152 One major issue that many appear to be overlooking is that one must first BECOME a real Christian before one can "remain" a Christian. Some very foolish and some wicked people are quoting from letters written to Christian people to instruct them of how to remain Christian and trying to twist those verses to a false conclusion. The Epistles are letters written to people who had obeyed Acts 2:38. They are not letters to the lost on "how to be saved". The Bible is quite clear that Acts 2:38 is for ALL that God will call. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. All of the whining in the world is not going to change the fact that a person must first BECOME a Christian in order to "BE" a Christian or to "remain" a Christian. ** Jews when they received the Holy Ghost ** Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ** Samaritans when they received the Holy Ghost * Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: Acts 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Acts 8:17 Then laid they [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. ** I wonder how the apostles knew they had received the Holy Ghost? * ** Gentiles when they received the Holy Ghost ** Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. ** John the Baptist's disciples when they were RE- baptised and received the Holy Ghost ** Acts 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. Acts 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. Acts 19:5 When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Jews, gentiles, Samaritans; all baptised in JESUS name, all spoke in tongues when they received the Holy Ghost. ** Have YOU received the Holy Ghost since YOU believed? ** ** Have YOU been baptised in JESUS name? ** If not, what would *ever* lead you to imagine that you could be saved without being born again of the Water and of the Spirit? (John 3:5) The epistles of the Bible are letters that were addressed to those who had received the preaching of the Apostles. The "receiving" or "believing" was determined by whether or not the hearers of the Apostles obeyed the word preached by the Apostles. Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? Some will claim to be "believers" even though they never obeyed the Gospel that the Apostles preached Before continuing, let's make it perfectly clear what Jesus Christ has in store for any and all who do not obey the Gospel that the Apostles preached. ...
