Another church reduced to ashes. Saint-Simon Church: On August 24, 2026, a suspicious fire completely destroyed the historic Saint-Simon Church on the Acadian Peninsula. Significance: Built between 1910 and 1920 by renowned Acadian architect Nazaire Dugas, it was widely believed to be the largest wooden church in New Brunswick.
