It’s book recommendation time again... Part 1 of 3 “The Hoopa Project” and “Tribal Bigfoot” David Paulides From the author of the “Missing: 411” series reviewed here on my Gab (https://gab.com/Carissa_Conti/posts/105762512848942971) we have police veteran David Paulides’ two books concerning Bigfoot. When I once made an offhand mention of these books to a coworker her immediate response to the subject was what I imagine most people’s would be…..smile and snicker. Can’t blame her, since the word “Bigfoot” sounds ludicrous, and the subject has been treated as a joke for decades. I myself have never really been interested in the subject, but wanted to get these books because I was so impressed with Paulides’ work with the “Missing: 411” series. Plus the premise of both books really got my attention: Detailed firsthand accounts of Bigfoot from people who were not only willing to sign affidavits verifying the veracity of their statements, but also have their photographs taken in nearly all instances. And were not paid to do this. So they have absolutely nothing to gain by going public with their story. Not only that, but Paulides employed professional forensic sketch artist Harvey Pratt, who’s worked with the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations for 35 years and the State of Oklahoma on several high profile serial killer cases, to create sketches of many of the Bigfoot accounts. And factoring in Paulides’ “just the facts” police report-ish style of relaying the details of cases you know straight away these books are going to be different from any other on the subject. In “The Hoopa Project” Paulides sticks exclusively in the Hoopa Valley of northern California and the Hoopa tribal reservation after meticulously researching what areas of the entire country have the most sightings of Bigfoot, and of those areas which one was the absolute best to focus in on. In “Tribal Bigfoot” he branches out to the other areas of Northern California that have reported the greatest number of sightings, along with Minnesota and Oklahoma. The end result for me is undeniable proof that Bigfoot is a very real hominid species of sorts that lives throughout pockets of North America (possibly even the world) and has taken GREAT pains to stay away from humans. The interesting part though is that they usually have powers/abilities we don’t, something that’s noted in multiple accounts, on top of their enormous size, so could easily overtake us.
