Resurrecting a post that I did a year ago, 1/29/21, when I utilized the Scrabble game tiles as an oracle. 13 months later and guess what.......it's come true, to the letter. O.o (no pun intended.) The question I asked at the time was, "In what various ways could COVID testing and vaccine mandates continue to be put into effect throughout society in the future, but more importantly and specifically, how might it affect me personally? So far COVID vaccines/test results for airline travel and university doesn't apply to me, since I don't fly anywhere and don't go to college. But will it ever get to the point where it *will* actually directly impact me??" The tiles I pulled spelled out "GO WORK SWAB," as noted in the below quoted post. Obviously saying that in order to be able to go to work the swab is going to be required. As mentioned two posts ago I'm back to being registered with my former go-to staffing agency who placed me on multiple temp and perm assignments in the past. However - no surprise - I'm running into an issue because almost every open and suitable admin office job they have requires the poison jab. The few that don't haven't been fits for me. They were higher level, well paying, but totally wrong for several key reasons. (For one of them I knew the whole thing was doomed when I showed up for the interview and the office manager interviewing me was wearing one of those full on "snout style" face masks. 🙄) It's always a total crapshoot when looking for work via an agency anyway - they'll throw all kinds of potential gigs your way, and on even a normal good day most won't be a fit for a variety of different reasons. You hold out though until a decent, well fitting one eventually comes along. But now the pool of jobs has been narrowed to probably 5% of what it previously was O.o due to the mask and jab requirements. And sure enough, this is what the agency noted in an email to me yesterday evening when we were conversing about a nice, high level position whose job description was a 99% near perfect match for everything I was doing at my last job, and it was also in Boca to boot, same as my last job.......but which I couldn't be put up for because of the jab requirement. "Carissa, couldn’t agree more – our entire team said you’d be perfect! All of our other administrative roles are requiring vaccination or you’d have the appropriate documentation to state why not + wear a mask in office and test weekly." And test weekly. Why hello there "GO WORK SWAB." Oh well, can't say I wasn't warned well over a year ago about what was coming up in my future. That's why I'm just kind of shrugging about it on this end. And just to be clear - I will never cave and do a "COVID test" for ANY job.
