There are 9,386 American soldiers buried in the World War II Cemetery and Memorial located in Normandy, France.
Each year, on Memorial Day, French caretakers take the sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and respectfully scrub it into the engraved letters, in order to give them a golden brown patina.
They do this for Each and Everyone of these 9,386 Brave Men.
AMERICA NEEDS MORE RESPECT FOR THE FALLEN WHO GAVE THEIR ALL!
