I support UBI: Universal BACON Income! Something remarkable I noticed in Gibbon’s Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire: ”During five months of the year, a regular allowance of bacon was distributed to the poorer citizens; and the annual consumption of the capital, at a time when it was much declined from its former lustre, was ascertained, by an edict of Valentinian the Third [425-455], at three millions six hundred and twenty-eight thousand pounds.” (Chapter XXXI, in Vol. IV in the Folio Society edition, Vol. V in this) No bread and circus, this! By the last years of the Western Roman Empire, they were given pork bellies with their loaves of bread. Imagine an anti-work woketard was thrilled to see in the headlines that UBI is now real, and he goes to the initial distrubution. Then imagine his acute agony, as he sees delicious stacks of BACON being handed out to the poor! As an ethical vegan, it’s a crime against oinker-kind.
