This week marks the official beginning of my musings on the 52 Godly Mentors program for another child. Rather than simply "do what I've always done," I've been praying for guidance on how to make this the best yet. To that end, I've thought about the idea of specifically requesting certain conversations or experiences with the mentors I ask to become a part of my child's journey. While there's nothing wrong with saying, "Please spend a day with my child and talk about or do whatever will benefit him/her," there is also perhaps some merit in asking, "Would you show my child how to do xyz" or "Would you talk about this aspect of your personal life and the skills you possess in patience/problem solving/dealing with confrontation/etc." The start date is still over 6 months out, but good planning is a plus. For those new to the group, I've been doing this for 16-17 years and have written books on the topic. If I can help or encourage or coach you in finding mentors for your own children or setting up a mentoring program, reach out and let me know.
