This StosselTV episode acknowledges that Earth is warming slightly, but asserts that some environmental activists are too-often making alarmist predictions that are unquestioningly parroted by reporters---and it seeks to correct such commonly-accepted myths with facts. As I might reiterate... Although I am a religious person who trusts revelation about spiritual truth, I note that Christianity spawned the scientific method, which helps us to discern useful secular truths also. And, although I enjoy science and even studied for a career as a physicist, I nevertheless acknowledge that science isn't always as reliable as some people suppose. Credible analyses have shown that contemporary published scientific research too-often errs due to innate margins-of-error, "p-hacking" that encourages false positives, incentives to publish new results, disincentives to reproduce experiments to verify old results, and resistance to retractions; for example, meta-research by John Ioannidis into medical science has proven that most of its experimental conclusions were eventually disproven. Moreover, scientists are only human and, as such, their ideally-unbiased search for truth may be corrupted by pride or greed or ideological bias or carelessness or other mortal foibles. Also, it's innately challenging to isolate variables in complex systems, which are studied in fields like physiology or ecology. These and other reasons together help to explain why science can potentially develop a "holy writ" and an "orthodoxy" and "heretics"---and these reasons also help to explain why we should maintain free speech to correct error, to spread truth, and to facilitate progress. Although science has become relatively settled that Earth's climate warmed slightly during the 20th century, science remains unsettled that this warming resulted from man-made carbon-dioxide emissions. Some claim that such science was settled by majority vote on the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, but that's the work of politics not science, and the IPCC's scientists were proven untrustworthy via "Climategate" for concealing results, manipulating data, and suppressing dissent. Such politicized pseudo-science has motivated alarming predictions that, despite being repeatedly disproven, are routinely exploited by ecological Marxists (who are also known as "watermelon" environmentalists for being "green" on the outside but "red" on the inside) to instill exaggerated fears that anthropogenic global warming will instigate a worldwide climate catastrophe unless we Earthlings accept socialistic false-solutions like building global government while destroying both nuclear families and private property. Ironically, socialism has persistently proven itself counterproductive to environmentalism, which thrives best among free people; in free societies, religion can powerfully teach people to accept stewardship over the Earth, while innovation can foster both efficient-use-of-resources and affluence to donate to ecological causes. So, I spurn both eco-Marxism and New Age Gaianism to embrace both Christian stewardship and libertarian environmentalism, and I invite others to do likewise. Let's please reject false solutions to dubious problems! https://rumble.com/v7csf3a-you-dont-understand-the-environment-lies-about-greenhouse-gases-polar-bears.html #Science #JunkScience #Politicization #ClimateAlarmism #ClimateChange #Climatology #GlobalWarming #Environmentalism
