This remarkable building has stood in Bradford-on-Avon, UK, for more than 500 years. The Bridge Tea Rooms dates its origins to around 1502, when it began as a single-storey cottage. Its distinctive upper floor and twin gables were added in 1675, a date still recorded in the stonework. Over the centuries, it has been associated with a tailor, a blacksmith, a sweet shop and an antique shop before becoming a tea room in 1989. Today, visitors can still sit beneath old timber beams and take afternoon tea within walls that have stood for more than five centuries.
