🔥‼️Sen.RandPaul’s release of Dr. Ralph Baric's testimony marks another major turning point in exposing the scientific and institutional failures surrounding #COVID-19. Whether or not Baric participated in creating SARS-CoV-2 is a separate question. What matters is that the public narrative dismissing the FCS as insignificant has collapsed. - In the 1st Yan Report, we concluded from the beginning that the FCS was an engineered gain-of-function element. More importantly, we identified restriction enzyme signatures surrounding the Spike engineering strategy that were consistent with cloning approaches routinely used in work associated with Dr. Zhengli Shi and Dr. Fang Li. The FCS was never "just another mutation." It was part of an engineering design. 2️⃣ the "ideal ACE2 binding" theory has now fallen apart. - The Proximal Origin paper argued that SARS-CoV-2 could not have been engineered because its receptor binding was not the "ideal" design an engineer would choose. - Baric has now testified that his own experiments from 2010–2011 demonstrated exactly the opposite: a virus that binds too tightly can spread worse, meaning a knowledgeable designer may deliberately avoid the strongest possible binding. That directly undermines one of the central scientific arguments used in Proximal Origin. - This is exactly why the 1st Yan Report analyzed the engineering pattern itself: preservation of the critical hACE2-contact residues, deliberate modification of largely non-essential residues, and molecular cloning signatures surrounding the RBM. That is how experienced molecular virologists recognize rational engineering—not by assuming an engineer would always maximize receptor affinity. 3️⃣ Baric confirmed that a U.S. taxpayer-funded hACE2 mouse model was sent to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and used in risky coronavirus research. - This directly intersects with the synthetic route laid out in the 1st Yan Report. - In that report, we explained that after engineering the Spike/RBM for hACE2 binding, WIV scientists would have used serial passage in hACE2 transgenic mice to drive receptor-oriented adaptation. After approximately 10–15 passages, such a process could enhance hACE2-binding affinity, infection efficiency, lethality, and viral fitness while stabilizing the engineered genome. - But this is exactly where they made a catastrophic mistake. hACE2 mice are suitable for adapting an engineered coronavirus to the human receptor, but they are a poor model for evaluating human-to-human transmissibility. By pursuing stronger hACE2 adaptation in the wrong animal model, WIV could enhance infection and pathogenicity while completely missing the explosive increase in transmissibility that the resulting virus had acquired. - The 1st Yan Report specifically warned that, had they tested the virus in a proper transmission model such as the Syrian golden hamster, its extreme contagiousness would have been immediately obvious. - My (May 2020) co-first-author Nature paper using the Syrian golden hamster provided the experimental proof. It used the correct animal model to demonstrate the extraordinary transmissibility of SARS-CoV-2—precisely the property that hACE2 mouse experiments could fail to reveal. - In other words, the WIV's receptor-adaptation program may have driven the engineered virus far beyond what its scientists understood, while their wrong model concealed the transmission danger until the outbreak became uncontrollable in Wuhan (after intentional release!) at the end of 2019. 4️⃣Taken together, the larger reality is clear: - the CCP exploited America’s open scientific system, technology, funding, and collaborators to advance its own strategic objectives. - But only the CCP’s totalitarian state power, military-civil fusion system, secrecy, and geopolitical machinery could turn those resources into a weaponized coronavirus capability. - The same pattern applies to AI, finance, law, and other American institutions exploited through unrestricted warfare. This does not make the U.S. government equivalent to the CCP. It means CCP-linked proxies, enablers, and compromised individuals inside open societies must be exposed, while the CCP remains the central organizer and ultimate beneficiary. - Accountability must reach every person and institution that knowingly enabled this transfer and every CCP organ that directed, concealed, and weaponized it.
