@MapleCurtain @genophilia @Heartiste I still believe that churches got infiltrated and corrupted in the early 20th C., or maybe b/c of Civil War. Before that locals took care of local issues, and dissidents who were set on tearing down society. Not saying things didn't go too far at times, but churches were a good moderator of keeping emotions and rash behavior in check, while still encouraging action when the time came. That stopped. Suddenly, verses to 'Turn the other cheek' and 'Don't judge' were taken out of context, and you weren't allowed to care, or take action, for what anyone else did. It was all about your "personal relationship with Jesus," as if that wasn't supposed to affect how you reacted to the world around you. Heck, that's still being pushed today by popular Christian writers. Criticism of social action, even opposing abortion, for fear your "personal" holiness is being ignored. Churches let these wolves into the fold, and the destruction has been astounding. Many church-goers can't even recognize what's going on, or how their society and their lives should be different. #Church #Christianity #
