Usually when people buy something. They expect something of value in return. Gab has nothing of unique value to offer anyone. 100% of your competition offers basic functions of social media at no cost. All competing platforms have payed subscriptions that offer more for less. Have you ever heard of a concept called "supply and demand"? If you're going to run a business, you should really get familiar with it. You could just do what literally every other business on earth does and make your product actually worth paying for. Then you wouldn't have to constantly scheme with greedy tactics, manipulation, and attempted guilt tripping to make more money. Right now your entire business model is "We will punish average users if they don't give us money for nothing of value in return". It's the most retarded business model I've ever seen. I see ads all over gab. Stop pretending like you're not making money off of every single account on this platform that leaves impressions on those ads. Gab has low engagement for 99% of users, no monetization, nothing useful to grow businesses, no live stream features, no live chat, and no unique tools that makes it stand out from other platforms. It has nothing worth paying for. There is no ability to draw a crowd here at all. There is zero return on investment for buying a pro account. On top of that its an echo chamber that puts in zero effort to attract other communities. The only conversations happening here are about politics and religion. There is no outreach to other communities at all.... and you seriously wonder why you keep failing to get more users to pay without having to influence them through threats and undeserved punishment? It's honestly wild that even a single person falls for your bs.
