M81 is a grand design spiral galaxy located 12 million light-years away. It contains over 250 billion stars. This alluring galaxy spans roughly 90,000 light-years across, and if it was bright enough in our night sky, it would be as large as the full moon. M81 is situated in the constellation Ursa Major in the northern sky and can be seen with a pair of binoculars on a clear dark night. 📸 Credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech
