ESSIAC TEA HEALTH BENEFITS Essiac Tea is mostly known for the prevention and treatment of cancer. However, it is actually a foundational tea with more health benefits than any other single herb tea. https://essiac-tea.org/index/essiac-faq/essiac-health-benefits/ All four Essiac Tea Herbs can be grown in your own garden on your own land for both food and medicine (see photos below). It was originally a native American tea that an "old Indian medicine man" gave to an English woman in northern Ontario, Canada for her breast cancer in the 1890s. The tea healed her cancer but left a scar on her breast. About thirty years later a Canadian nurse, Rene M. Caisse, noticed the scar on the English woman's breast and inquired about it. The woman gave Nurse Caisse the herbal formula and recipe that the "medicine man" gave her. Rene found that the tea really worked to heal cancer so she tested it on laboratory mice and real cancer patients. She reduced the native formula to just four herbs and called it "Essiac", her surname spelled backwards. The only native American herb in Essiac Tea is Slippery Elm. Sheep Sorrel and Burdock originally came from Europe and Turkey Rhubarb came from China and is also called Chinese Rhubarb.
