Since summer has finally arrived I am trying to hook up all the various irrigation systems. This was one of the areas that belonged to my husband. I participated by fetching and watching to see if water flowed when he requested my assistance. As of now I hate timers, plumbers tape, and leaking anything. I have rashes on both arms from clearing Johnson grass out where the ground had stayed too wet to mow. Add hot, humid weather; and my irrigation system misbehaving; and I can honestly say homesteading alone is no fun at all. Since the son who was going to help has a broken leg; it is push through the frustration or let the plants tough it out on their own. I can handle leaking where a hose attaches to the faucet - new washer and some plumber’s tape, but leaking where the hose attaches to the connectors is a nightmare. Tomorrow I will be using hose repair kits to see if I can master another new skill to go with my recently acquired setting timers skill.
