In the broadest, philosophical sense, the man’s authority, represented by the phallus, is active for fertilization. And the woman’s authority, represented by the womb, is passive in choosing which man will enter her and when. That’s partly why rape is such a gross violation; the act steals the female’s worthy passive authority and uses it like cheap garbage.
