Are you talking about the WIV BSL4? (Not where SARSr-CoV research was done, there are multiple labs @RdeMaistre can fill you in) -as even the BSL4 has issues - one doesn't expect to find a BSL4 infectious clone in C19 patient NGS datasets https://arxiv.org/abs/2109.09112 @humblesci Also that wikipedia article doesn't mention the Beijing LAI in early 2020 https://archive.ph/Iidx6 Several good articles by @gdemaneuf and coauthors in lab safety https://gillesdemaneuf.medium.com/list/biosafety-labs-in-china-reviews-ede1549bcff0 The Taiwan SARS-1 leak was at a military cabinet BSL-4. It involved a type III glove ported isolator. This is well described by the head investigator of that lab leak, Tony Della Porta: http://publish.csiro.au/MA/pdf/MA08062 There were multiple SARS-1 leaks in 2003/04. The worst ones were at the top P3 in China at the time, with a cover-up and the WHO kicked out of the investigation. Then again a SARS-2 P3 leak at the same Beijing institution in 2020. You can’t make this up. https://archive.ph/NfiZq From the best forensic expert on the subject. [Della-Porta did the Taiwan and Singapore SARS leaks, but was not part of the Beijing SARS leak investigation from which the WHO anyway eventually retreated]. http://publish.csiro.au/MA/pdf/MA08062 @gdemaneuf Major lab leaks after 1970s: https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2007/08/report-lab-leak-likely-caused-uk-foot-and-mouth-outbreak https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-article-abstract/doi/10.1093/cid/ciac463/6604450?redirectedFrom=fulltext https://archive.ph/Gl0Gc https://archive.ph/SSPYj https://archive.ph/G5YaU https://gab.com/Flavinkins/posts/108695754734982678 https://gab.com/Flavinkins/posts/108689290408849868
