"State Constitutions" Everyone should read their own state constitution. After all, WE THE PEOPLE *are* the government, so we ought to know the rules by which we are supposed to be governing. Attached is the beginning of Nebraska's constitution. Note that Nebraska starts by thanking Almighty God for our freedom. A great start, I'd say. Next, their constitution makes a couple of very important points: 1) They have a right to bear arms (not to be infringed); and, 2) Their representative government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. It is not an accident that weapons are immediately juxtaposed with God-given freedom and *just powers* derived from the *consent* of the governed. In other words, if WE THE PEOPLE do not consent, then any presumed government powers are *not* just. That's why we *need* our weapons... we don't have to comply with an unjust government, and we have the means by which to defend our non-compliance.
