Had an interesting conversation with a coworker yesterday. We were talking about a school event i attended last June, awards and such. I was sitting bellow the stairs that the students had to walk up to get to the stage. I was greated with 6 different sets of labia as adolescent girls assended the stairs, bc their shorts were so short, they were hanging out of their jean shorts. Every person at the same table as me got an eye full of their gentalia. I was embarassed, the other woman, teachers, were embarrassed, a few men moved to a different location in the gymnasium. I was appalled that this is allowed in school, or anywhere for that matter. My coworker said that was perfectly fine and that the men that also saw are disgusting pigs. I disagreed vehimately. I said if it was boys with their balls hanging out of their shorts, would you be ok with that? Well no, she said. Then why is it ok for girls? She had no reply. She stood her ground and said, if she choose to walk around town naked, then the men that oogle her are at fault. I disagreed. It didn't get heated, I'm smarter than that. My final reply to her was, both men and woman are responsible for their actions, and woman do not get a pass because society says we shouldn't body shame🤷‍♀️
