Observation: Modern pagans, and I'm not talking about the transsexual Wicca-type, is characterized by the following: Being of relatively low class and sexually wanton. Then again, low class and sexual wantonness go hand in hand. In a sense, it's a rebellion against modern puritanism which has protestantism as its origin. This puritanism is typical for the middle class. I must assume the upper classes are characterized by their utter materialism. Religion as such follows the lines of warfare across class and ethnicity. My country, Norway, is one of the closest to its pagan origins out of all the European countries. There this division in class and latent paganism is reflected in the choice of names in the population. Only the upper working class and the lower middle class tend to have names with Norse origin: Torstein, Tor, Sigurd, etc. The lower working class have names statistically correlated with criminality. The middle class at large have international names, and the upper classes tend to have pretensious Roman names.
