Lab-grown seafood is FDA-approved and already being served in US restaurants. Wildtype became the first cultivated fish company to receive full FDA clearance in May 2025 — growing real salmon from Pacific salmon cells in bioreactors. No ocean. No nets. No farms. The FDA stated it is “as safe as comparable foods produced by other methods.” It’s already on menus in Portland, Austin, and San Francisco. The difference: lab-grown salmon contains the same omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids as conventional salmon — with zero mercury, zero antibiotics, zero parasite contamination, and zero microplastics. Conventional farmed salmon contains 16 times more PCBs than wild. Conventional shrimp is 90% imported, with the FDA testing less than 1 in 1,000 samples — and finding banned carcinogens, veterinary residues, and radioactive contamination in the ones they do test. One in five seafood products sold in the US is mislabelled. Lab-grown seafood eliminates species fraud entirely — because the cells are traceable to a single source. No STPP water injection. No carbon monoxide gassing. No mislabelling. Just cells, grown into fish. The ocean is running out. The labs are just getting started. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1KzfEdmdgm/
