Friends and Followers on GAB… I’ve decided to discontinue my active use of GAB and I’ve decided to tell you why… First, after being active here for about 3 years, I’ve recently come to the conclusion that GAB isn’t what it claims to be…. About a week ago, I was in the middle of composing a detailed critique of GAB’s Artificial Intelligence bots that are using the images and identities of REAL living persons. My essay was also a general critique of all forms of Artificial Intelligence where bots interact with people as if the bots were human themselves. AI is already being used to create FALSE IMAGES of persons, places and things WITHOUT DISCLOSURE that the photo images are NOT REAL. Artificial Intelligence is DANGEROUS to the freedom of mankind and I reject it out-right because it is a “Pandora’s Box” that cannot and will not be controlled. While I was in the midst of writing my post and making my case against AI, my post suddenly disappeared! I considered that it could be a glitch on my home internet service but that seemed to be an all-too-convenient excuse…. What’s more, I had never previously had a post suddenly taken-down on GAB… I decided to post a series of short posts accusing GAB of arbitrarily deleting my post…. I even tagged Andrew Torba personally to stimulate a response…. NOTHING happened… (crickets chirping!) Mr. Torba has a right to run GAB as he sees fit - but I believe his dive into Artificial Intelligence is wrong-headed - particularly if/when most of his subscribers don’t have a sufficient opportunity to interact with their own FOLLOWERS regularly. What’s more - I received only 1 or 2 comments about my posts… It now seems clear to me that my posts have been concealed from my 683 followers here on GAB…. It is very odd that the people who read my posts would be totally ignoring my posts on this subject. Then oddly enough, I received a private email encouraging me to subscribe to GAB Pro…. All things considered - I won’t be doing that… But enough about GAB… My second message for the few who might see it is that I’ve recently realized something very disappointing about “free speech” in general… We Americans have been told that our rights to SPEAK FREELY are protected and codified in our FIRST AMENDMENT to the US CONSTITUTION…. But being FREE TO EXPRESS OUR VIEWS now seems to be enough for most people who choose to “sound off” without feeling any obligation to get up of our asses and ACT UPON THEIR VIEWS AND CITIZEN RESPONSIBILITIES! I now SADLY BELIEVE that MODERN AMERICANS are - for the most part - BAGS OF WIND when it comes to our abusive, bloated, corrupt government. COMPLAINING about the CRIMES our government is committing might SEEM like an exercise in CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY, but “bitching and complaining” NEVER CHANGES ANYTHING! VOTING and expecting our elected officials to protect our interests is now A FOOLS ERRAND! Frankly, I’ve come to the conclusion that for the VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS - being a “spectator” to open and conspicuous treasonous acts by elected government officials and unelected government employees, agents and operatives is tolerable UNLESS and UNTIL those “treasonous acts” actually arrive on their own doorsteps. So to conclude this rant… I now consider it to be a hypocritical waste of time for ANYONE - BUT ESPECIALLY ME - to write and post critical essays and comments about the obvious abuses being committed by our ever growing, ever intrusive government… Believing as I do - I have an obligation to re-direct my efforts away from social media… And that’s exactly what I plan to do! #AndrewTorba
