Some people think that the Lord Jesus and his disciples preached a different gospel from John the Baptist, but they did not. It was just more complete. The call to repent was the same; a repentance that required turning away and stopping the evil works you had done and doing what is righteous and good in God's eyes. The teaching about the remission or forgiveness of sins was the same. The idea of confessing ones sins before God and the man leading them in repentance has not changed. A true man of God should be instructing those that listen to his teaching what sin is and how we are to turn from these evil things and begin doing what is good and just in all our dealings with people. John explained how the Christ, the Messiah, was coming and how that man was far greater than him and he would baptize those who followed him with the Holy Ghost and fire. Jesus and the apostles taught the baptism of the Holy Ghost that would endue the saved, born again soul with power to teach and preach the gospel. That teaching and much of the other has been lost in the modern churches, including the Pentecostal type churches that have forsaken repentance and sought the gifts of the Spirit. Neither do they know and obey the Lord Jesus in truth. They have fallen into a world of false spirits and superstition and foolishness.
