So, about 1,400 words today. I started Chapter 51, though I don't think I'll pick it up until later in the week. I want to revise Chapters 31 thru 40 for my wife to read over the Thanksgiving holiday. She's my biggest fan, main beta reader, and has been nagging me about reading the rest since July(?). This is a much bigger book than anything else I've published thus far and it is taking time to finish. I suspect that a beta version of the book will be ready before Christmas. I'll be putting out a call for beta readers soon. I've got to say that this book, despite the length of time it's taken me to write, has come together fairly fast, and my revisions, in contrast to the earlier books, have gone by quickly. Thus far, it's my wife's new favorite story...from me. I already have one beta reader, besides my wife, lined up. I might want to get two more on board. So keep a sharp lookout for the announcement. I think I'm sitting around 120,000 words. By contrast, the Revenant and the Cult books were 110,000 words combined, and The Wizard's Stone was 82,000 words. So, for those asking for "more" - you're getting it with this one. I already have a title picked out and I'll be lining up editors fairly soon. I have one that I use regularly, though I haven't inquired on her schedule. Unlike other audiobooks, I'm probably going to release this version well after the eBook and paperback. It's a huge book. I've got to reconnect with Steve Fortune to see if he's still willing, and I still have to figure out how to pay for it all. But, I'm tentively committing to have an audiobook available. This book introduces some new elements to my overall arc that tie into the book I'm looking to produce at the end of this road. While I like this story, and have no qualms about doing bigger works, with more expansive books the amount of time it take me to write and produce this type of content is excessive. I think subsequent books will be shorter. I'd also like to write another novella as those sell better at cons than the Fantasy chonkers. Well, at least for me Next weeked I'll be attending the Bluewater Comic Con in Port Huron, MI. As per usual, I'll be selling and signing books, and special event pricing will be in effect. I'll also be running a holiday promo through the HPH Lore Forge Store, the details of which will drop on November 27th. I'll post that here, on my Facebook page, as well as on my Substack. I'll also send a notice to people on my email list. So, if you're interested, sign up on my website or subscribe to my Substack for notifications. Links in the comments.
