So, about 1,600 words today, finishing a chapter I started on Friday. I'm on Chapter 53 now, which I'll probably start later tonight. Things are definitely getting interesting for Odo and the gang. I've returned home from a Thanksgiving up north. I didn't get as much writing time in as I wanted, but starting and completing a chapter is a good way to end the holiday. I have the rest of the book planned out in my head, and it is merely a matter of finishing at this point. I'm sitting on 125,000 words at present, and suspect that I'll go beyond Chapter 60. before I'm done. The wife has the book all the way through Chapter 43 and intends to read it this weekend and over the coming weeks. The "plan" is to complete the book before Christmas and send it out to beta readers over the Christmas holiday. I have one beta reader signed up, in addition to my wife. I have spots for 2 more. I'll be contacting people in the very near future to see if they want to participate in providing feedback. I was worried that the ending would not be as interesting as the beginning, but, man, was I wrong. Chapter 53 gave me a bunch of ideas that I'm going to put down. I'm really hyped for the next chapter. Given the costs involved to get this to market, I'm toying with the idea of breaking up the book again. I know I said I wasn't going to do that, but the costs are making me nervous. I could crowdfund, but that comes with a lot of complications that I'm not sure I'm in the position to manage at this point. We'll see. I'll be posting something on my Substack concerning my issues with big books. This one is, indeed, in that category. If you wanted something that took longer to read than my previous offerings, this is it. Unfortunately, I think I'll be doing some shorter books in the future, for a myriad of reasons. The Bluewater Comic Con was a bit of a disappointment. I sold my minimum, but barely. I'm starting to line up dates for next year, starting with Midland again. I think I may have April and May covered. Some of the places I want to attend aren't open for registration at present. if you have any info on cons in and around the Michigan area, reach out to me. I'd be interested in looking at them. Anyhow, that's all for right now. I have a new post on Substack appearing on Thursday. Until then, I'll see you in the funny papers. (That's pre-Boomer lingo, in case you're wondering)
