+ Firstborn Of The Unforgiven: The Sodaz Marine + • With my Cult of the Possessed series done, I finally get to unveil my next project; what I am tentatively calling my “Love Letter to the Firstborn”. This project’s aim is to bring to life a kill team of true scale firstborn marines inspired by the art and design of (mostly) 3rd edition 40k….the best edition 😉. I’ll be using a wonderful kitbashing technique pioneered by kwk.bash (IG) that makes heavy use of the beautiful bolterjugend (IG) sculpts. This will be combined with both “official” plastic parts and 3D printed bits from greytidestudio (IG) to create what I consider to be a properly proportioned true scale marine. • This miniature is inspired by the old Sodaz “Death Korps of Krieg” animation (see second picture). I wanted to pay homage to that beautiful work of story telling and the Dark Angel Marine that artist Sodaz created. While I took some liberties with the design, I tried to keep that classic feel of a Space Marine charging the enemy lines with holy bolter in hand (just like in the animation).
