+ Firstborn Of The Unforgiven: The Shieldwall + • Just like with Beaky Marines, every squad needs a Breacher Marine or at least one guy with an oversized shield whom undoubtedly is first into the fray (I am clearly a Zone Mortalis fan). So for my Shieldwall Marine I decided to use one of the Marines on the box art of the Dark Angel Veterans kit as inspiration — and well would you look at that, it’s the same kit I used to source a majority of my plastic parts for this project....what are the odds 🤪!? • In all seriousness, I do like the original model pictured in the reference photo. It’s one of those iconic sculpts; so I just had to recreate him adding my own twists here and there. However I wanted the spirit of the original to remain intact. The pose is the same, as is the helmet. The shield is different yes, but both have the iconic Dark Angels reaper iconography (thanks to amazing sculpt from greytidestudio(IG) ). I swapped the weapon for a plasma pistol, which was one of the main changes to the original design that was made on my part. I figured that a Breacher in the Dark Angels Chapter wouldn’t just rock up with any old boltgun, but instead with something that could dish out an incredibly lethal amount of firepower.
