David Starkey - British historian. A long video (1hr 1min 34sec) but worth watching for the explanation given of the development of British political history particularly the Tony Blair years which shaped Britain into what it is today and which has (and still is) affecting and changing New Zealand and Australia. Starkey's favourite Prime Minister is Disraeli and he quotes him thus: 'In a progressive society change is inevitable, but what kind of change will it be? Will it be in accordance with the customs, traditions and history of the country, or will it be the abstract, rootless, principles of cosmopolitanism?' In Starkey's opinion - internationalism is liberalism, and the moment we identify with the liberal, international, hyper-rationalistic doctrines of cosmopolitanism we are finished. You can NOT reinvent society using the abstract principles of rationalism. Which is exactly what our government is trying to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wA0jAPtaOw
